Plant of the Month Competition

September Talk

Our first meeting of the new session started on a rather sad note as we had lost our previous chairman, Sam McNair during the summer.

The meeting consisted of two talks, the first on Logan Botanic Garden by Colin Belton who is Supervisor of the Garden at Logan, it was a very interesting and entertaining talk covering the history of the garden, some of the plants they grow and plans for the future.

The second talk, in the same vein, was given by Colin’s wife, Gaby Leonard, on Dunskey Garden near Portpatrick where she is the Head Gardener, Dunskey is a smaller, less well known, garden and I’m sure has become a place to visit for a number of our members.

Altogether a very pleasant and entertaining evening enjoyed by everyone.
