In search of Bogatensis, Columbia - Doug Donaldson

The main point of Doug's trip to Columbia was to re-find Mammillaria columbiana var bogatensis. They were searching in an area at 6000feet above sea level There were many cacti - Cereus columbiana and lots of different Melocactus but only two varieties of Opuntia.

We saw that the wild goats in the area do lots of damage to the tops of the Melocactus. There were also lots of hybrids seen in the wild.

This was a great talk of a very hostile country, and was well put over by Doug Donaldson.
