The Plants on Your Plate

This month we had an entertaining talk, given by Louise Bustard of Glasgow Branch.

The talk was "The Plants on Your Plate" and the things she told us were very educational, and we leant a lot about fruit and vegetables, where they had come from and what breeding had been involved over many years

One example is that all brassica had evolved over the years from one basic plant. Louise went through the alphabet naming 95% of all vegetables & fruit.

It was a very good talk and it proves that we do not always have to have talks on cacti to have an entertaining talk.
